DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) – Radical feminists have descended on Detroit to promote leftist ideals bent on destroying Judeo-Christian society.
The Women’s Convention scheduled for October 27–29 will feature three days of workshops and speakers, promoting and educating ordinary women and children on how to promote the leftist agenda, largely through bullying and intimidation. There are numerous break-out sessions featuring women who have filed and won prominent workplace lawsuits, anti-establishment workshops and training for beginning lobbyists and activists. A session for youth attending the conference showcase activist “art” and has lessons on civil disobedience.
Organized and promoted by the organizers of the anti-Trump D.C. Women’s March, the convention mirrors the same issues.
The description reads: “Women’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression” — reproductive rights, LGBT rights, worker’s rights, immigration, environmental justice and ending mass incarceration are some of the “unity principles” they claim all women should fight for.
Activist Linda Sarsour, co-chair of the 2017 Women’s March, is an organizer of the event and an outspoken promoter. Sarsour has been caught calling for a jihad against President Trump and has admitted she has family members jailed for their involvement with the terrorist group Hamas and has been pictured with an alleged Hamas financier, Salah Hamas.
Most recently, Sarsour came under fire for promoting a Hurricane Harvey relief fund that actually went to fund Texas Organizing Project Education Fund, a political action group with no actual ties to hurricane victims. The Daily Wire reported:
Texas Organizing Project Education Fund’s parent organization, the Texas Organizing Project, was an organization morphed into by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), the radical group that was allegedly implicated in voter-registration fraud, vote-rigging, voter intimidation and vote-for-pay scams.
Church Militant reached out to Islamic expert Robert Spencer, who has been a frequent critic of Sarsour’s actions.
“Sarsour is openly and unapologetically pro-Sharia,” he told Church Militant. “That means that she stands for a system that calls for the beating of disobedient women, devalues women’s testimony and inheritance rights and allows for polygamy and female genital mutilation.”
Spencer says, “Sarsour is a darling of the far-Left,” noting she has the “wholehearted support of Bernie Sanders and other leftist leaders.” Sanders has been given a prime speaking spot on the opening night of the convention. Despite outrage from women and other conference speakers, organizers refused to apologize or move Sanders’ speaking time.
While they promote women’s issues in their unity principles, they mention black, native and immigrant women and fail to name white women. This racism against white women is also shown in their breakout session Confronting White Womanhood.
“For centuries, violence has been done in the name of and even physically enacted by white women,” reads the program. It’s open to all women but is specifically designed to “unpack the ways white women uphold and benefit from white supremacy” by encouraging women to share stories of their personal “complicity” and “empower attendees to disrupt white supremacy from within their own communities.”
“Western feminists ignore the deprivations of women’s rights under Sharia, but it’s quite obvious that Sharia is at variance with their stated values,” Spencer warned, adding, “The danger of supporting her is that she brings support for Sharia, as well as a virulent anti-Semitism into the mainstream and makes all that hatred appear normal.”
Conference organizers are expecting about 3,000 people to attend the conference, which costs about $300 to attend.
Pro-Life Michigan and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society are planning a protest of the conference for Saturday, October 28 from 8–11 a.m. E.T. at Cobo Hall, 1 Washington Boulevard in Detroit.
